Quick-drying, abrasion-resistant semi-gloss urethane alkyd enamel for floor painting. Intended for painting wooden and concrete floors indoors. Compared to typical alkyd enamels, AUREKS 60 provides accelerated drying, higher coating hardness and abrasion resistance. The enamel is available in ready-made colour tones and also as tintable bases: Base A (to be used as white colour or tinted in light colour tones) and Base C (to be tinted in dark colour tones). Tinting is performed in the TEMACOLOR SCALA system or the RILAKOLOR system.
Stir the enamel thoroughly before use. If necessary, dilute to working viscosity with white spirit, SOLVEKS or VAITSOL solvents up to 7% by volume. The floor surfaces to be painted must be cleaned of dirt. When applying AUREKS 60 on previously painted surfaces, it is necessary to perform a test painting on a small spot, with a subsequent layer adhesion test. New concrete surfaces may be painted not earlier than after 28 days (after removing lime milk from the surface, see separate instructions for preparing concrete surfaces for painting). Concrete should be homogeneous and ideally should not contain modifying additives (polymer dispersions, curing accelerators, hydrophobic additives, etc.). These additives can adversely affect the adhesion of the enamel to the base (concrete). Therefore, if the exact composition of the concrete base is not known, it is necessary to perform a test painting on a small spot with a subsequent mechanical adhesion test. The absolute humidity of the concrete must not exceed 4%. The air and paintable surface temperature must be between +5 ºC and +35 ºC. The relative air humidity must not exceed 85%. The enamel is applied on clean, dry surfaces in 2 coats with a paint brush or roller. Drying time of each coat at +20 ºC: 6 hours (at +10 ºC: 8 hours). The second coat may be applied not earlier than after 7 hours at +20 ºC or after 9 hours at +10 ºC. The maximum repainting interval (until the next coat is applied) is 7 days. If it is necessary to apply the next coat of AUREKS 60 more than 7 days after application of the previous coat, as well as when applying AUREKS 60 on floors previously painted with alkyd enamels, then the surface to be painted should be treated with fine sandpaper to improve layer adhesion. Enamel consumption for one coat: 8 to 10 m²/l.
