Water-soluble stain on an acrylate dispersion base. Intended for staining indoor wooden surfaces before varnishing. Recommended for staining wall wood panels, floors, decorative wood finishing components (door frames, skirting boards, etc.). On top of TONTEKS stain, it is recommended to use LUOTEN furniture varnish, NEOKRON and AURLAK parquet varnishes, and Pentaphthalic varnish for wooden furniture. TONTEKS is made colourless (EC base) and can be tinted in the required shade in the RILAKOLOR system using the COLTEC WOOD catalogue.
If it is necessary to reduce the staining intensity (to obtain a lighter and more transparent shade), diluting TONTEKS with water in a ratio of 1:1 is allowed. The air and paintable surface temperature must be not lower than 5 °C during application, air relative humidity – not higher than 85%. Stir TONTEKS thoroughly before use and apply evenly with a brush or sponge on clean and dry sanded wooden surfaces along the wood grain. The resulting shade will depend on the consumption of TONTEKS and the properties and porosity of the wood, therefore a test painting on a small surface area is recommended before staining the whole surface. Drying time at 20±2 °C is 2 hours. The stained surface may be varnished not earlier than after 6 hours if the air temperature is +20 °C or after 18 hours at +10 °C. Before applying the varnish, make sure that the surface is completely dry. Consumption is 10–16 m²/l depending on the properties and porosity of the wood. Store in a tightly closed manufacturer’s container at a temperature above +5 °C.
